Description

Cause

Action

Class

DDM

Dry temperature too high

The drying temperature is too high for too long.
  1. The drying temperature (setpoint) has been lowered while drying.
  2. The solid-state relay is broken (short-circuited).
  3. Very humid material is being dried at very low temperatures.
  1. Turn off the machine and let it cool for some minutes. Then try to start again.
  2. Check and/or replace the solid-state relay.
  3. Dry a smaller amount of material at a time.
Alarm

DDM

Dry temperature unreachable

The drying temperature can’t be reached in time.
  1. The heating element (for drying) is broken.
  2. The temperature sensor for dry air has fallen out and therefore is not measuring the temperature of the drying air.
  3. The solid-state relay is broken
  4. A loose (bad) connection between control PCB and solid-state relay, or between solid-state
    relay and heating element.
  1. Check if the resistance of the heating element is right (30-90 Ohm depending on power).
  2. Check if the temperature sensor is fitted correctly.
  3. Check or replace the solid-state relay.
  4. Check for bad connections.
Warning

DDM

Mirco Switch valve stuck

Desiccant bed valve doesn’t swap within 45 s.
  1. The motor or gearbox which controls the change-over valve is broken.
  2. A bad connection between the control PCB and the motor for the change-over valve.
  1. Contact Labotek Service department.
  2. Check for bad connections.
Alarm

DDM

Motor failure

Protective motor switch disconnects.
  1. The motor is malfunctioning.
  2. Motor protection is triggered.
  3. Motor protection signal is missing.
  1. Check if the motor is malfunctioning.
  2. Reset Motor protection (see electrical drawings), maybe adjust Amps triggering the protection.
  3. Check if the motor protection signal is connected correct (see electrical drawings).
Alarm

DDM

Regeneration time

Regeneration time is too long.
  1. The regeneration filter located inside of the DDM is blocked
  2. A regeneration heater element is broken.
  3. The regeneration temperature sensor is not properly fitted.
  4. Not sufficient water flow or water temperature in regeneration air exhaust.* (Optional for HT version)
  5. Material flow in the hopper is too high.
  6. Leakages in pipes/hoses.
  1. Check the resistance of the regeneration heaters (40-70 Ohm depending on power).
  2. Check if the temperature sensor is fitted correctly.
  3. Check if there is sufficient water flow coming in and going out of the regeneration air cooler.
  4. Check the moisture level in the material.
  5. Check pipes and hoses for leakages.
Alarm

DDM / Optional alarm

Water cooling

High Temperature / Low-Temperature option.
  1. The temperature sensor for the water cooler is set at an unrealistic low temperature.
  2. The water flow through the cooler is too low.
  3. The temperature of the cooling water is too high.
  1. Adjust temperature for the water cooler.
  2. Contact Labotek Service department.
  3. Find another cooling water source.
Alarm

DDM

Temperature sensor alarm

A temperature sensor is disconnected. A temperature sensor is not fitted or broken.
  1. Check if the two PT-100 are fitted correctly.
  2. Check the resistance of the PT-100 sensors (107.8 Ohm at 20ºC, 130.9 Ohm at 80ºC).
Alarm

DDM

Phase missing alarm

A phase is missing when the machine is switched on. At least one of the 3 phases of the supply voltage is not connected. Check the voltage off all three lines. Alarm

DDM

Phase order alarm

The phase order is wrong. The phase of the supply voltage is swapped. Swap two of the three phases. Alarm

DDM

Heater broken

Unexpected currents run in heating elements (option).
  1. A heating element is broken.
  2. A solid-state relay is broken.
  3. That there is a bad connection related to controlling the heating elements.
  1. Check the resistance of the heating elements.
  2. Check solid-state relay.
  3. Check wiring connections.
Alarm

DDM / Optional alarm

Transport alarm

Conveying to DH at a too high rate.
  1. The Con-Evator (PGT) is out of raw material, consequence: not conveying material to DH hopper.
  2. The adjustment of transport time or suction pipe is causing a too small amount of material conveyance.
  1. Check if the suction pipe is able to convey material to the Conevator (PGT).
  2. Check suction pipe and settings of transport to DH.
Warning

DDM / Optional alarm

Material dry time

The preset drying time has elapsed. This is not an error, but a message saying that the preset drying time has elapsed. Make the alarm go away by pressing -ENTER-. Press "Enter", to make the alarm disappear. Warning

DDM

Regeneration valve

The regeneration value does not toggle within 20 s.
  1. The motor for the regeneration valve is broken.
  2. There is a bad connection between the control PCB and the regeneration valve.
  3. A microswitch is broken.
  1. Check regeneration motor and connections.
  2. Check connections to the valve.
  3. Check connections to microswitch and check microswitch (see electrical drawings).
Warning

DDM / Optional alarm

Hopper low level

The level of the drying hopper is low. Not enough material is conveyed to the DH hopper. Check if transport to the hopper is on. Warning

DDM

Fire alarm

The fire protection circuit has been activated.
  1. The over-temperature safety switch is activated.
  2. A fire protection switch related to a heating element is activated.
  3. There is a bad connection in the fire protection circuit.
  4. See "Regeneration time"
  1. Check that it is not adjusted at a too low temperature.
  2. Turn off the machine and let it cool. Then check if the regeneration blower and drying
blower is working and that the airflow is not blocked somehow (drying air to DH,  regeneration air).
  3. Check connections in the fire protection circuit.
  4. See "Regeneration time"
